Summit Pro Wide ( Progressive corridor: 14mm)
Clear wide distance and middle
Wide near vision
Natural perception due to small distortion
  #(compare to Summit Pro)
Recommendation:
First time progressive wearers
Summit Wide is better in all aspect than the most salable of the Hoya PAL; Summit Pro & cd. Certainly, it is compatible with Summit Pro & cd
Current progressive lenses users
The clear region is wider than the previous Summit designs Especially for watching the wide screen TV / cinema / theater or car driving is much better.
For those who easily get tired for long-time reading
As power change is so smooth in Summit Wide so that switching from distance to reading or vice versa will be unnoticeable since all along is sharp vision
Wider view for modern progressive lenses wearer
In recent years, along with the improvement of the quality of life, the popularity of touch-screen mobile phone, the wide-screen HD television leads to the needs of the wider view of clear vision among progressive lens wearers.
7 years since our previous Summit Series launched, utilizing the enhanced progressive lens design technology and the most advanced optical design system, together with the wearer perception verification, HOYA new progressive lens member: Summit Wide series debut, .While maintaining the premise of good comfort, Summit wide series greatly enhance the field of clear and wide vision. From the first moment of wearing, Summit Wide and traditional progressive lenses you'll immediately realize the difference to be!
For wider view of field
I. Aperture Inset design
HOYA’s first Aperture inset design ,considered the whole bundle of light ray going through the pupil instead of a single ray on the reading zone in the previous design, Aperture Inset design by taking pupil diameter into consideration together with asymmetrical horizontal design, creates better reading for both of the eyes together
II. Different design for myopia & hyperopia
Summit Wide takes the different visual needs for myopia & hyperopia into account and varies the basic design accordingly. It offers myopia with wider reading zone while for hyperopia, a wider distance zone is designed.
III. Base designs from variation of iD prototypes
Base designs were selected from HOYA’s top progressive series: HOYALUX iD series’ design proposals to fulfill recent need & trend to have wider in horizontal direction
IV. Base Curve selection by the power
As long as the gaze is nearly perpendicular to the back surface of the lens, the smaller the OAE (Oblique Astigmatism Error) as well as smaller image swing and thus results in greater comfort. At the same time, a slightly deeper base curve enables a shorter back vertex distance and results in a wider visual field.
For comfortable wearing
Various evaluation mapping for better comfort
With Hoya’s Multilateral evaluation mapping, the overall deformed image perception is quantified and accurately calculated. Based on the collected data, deformation can be minimized in a way that enhances vision and wearing perception and thus creating a real comfort progressive lens with more natural visual experience in all directions and circumstances.
